What's in a Nose Hair Trimming Gift Bundle? AI and Midjourney Tells Us!
Gift-giving has always been an integral part of human culture, and with the rise of AI, we can take that to the next level! In this blog post, we will see how AI and Midjourney fill in the blanks on prompts that give it a framework - but few details.
Let’s start with a little backwoods alcohol gifting.
I’ve realized now that when you leave the guess work up to AI and Midjourney it can come up with some interesting items. The above image shows the output from the following prompt:
Direct overhead shot, woodsy whiskey gift bundle with various items spread out flat on them, in the style of bo bartlett, clockpunk, joel robison, precisionist art, børge bredenbekk, navy and emerald, symbolic objects, even medium lighting. --q 2 --v 4
Notice the influences it includes in the output. I got inspiration for this prompt from an ad I saw on twitter for an altogether different gift bundle. I used the “/describe” function to get an analysis and it was a fascinating result.
Let’s explore a bit about each of these artists and influences.
Bo Bartlett is an American realist painter known for his large-scale narrative artworks that often depict scenes from his own life or explore themes of Americana, family, and the human experience. His style combines traditional American realism with a contemporary approach. He’s kind of the painting world equivalent of Wes Anderson
Joel Robison is a Canadian photographer and digital artist known for his whimsical and imaginative self-portraits, often featuring surreal elements and a strong narrative.
Børge Bredenbekk is a Norwegian illustrator and graphic designer known for his detailed, realistic illustrations that often incorporate elements of vintage advertising and industrial design.
MidJourney also used two styles to add to the flare:
Clockpunk is a subgenre of speculative fiction, often associated with steampunk, that focuses on themes and technologies inspired by Renaissance-era clockwork mechanisms. The aesthetic of clockpunk is characterized by intricate, ornate designs and the use of gears, cogs, and other clockwork elements.
Precisionist Art is an art movement that emerged in the United States during the early 20th century, characterized by its emphasis on clean lines, geometric forms, and a focus on industrial and architectural subjects. Oh
AI can analyze a vast range of data sources, including the keyword images from the interests and subjects you plug in ideal combination of items for the gift bundle.
Here’s another one on coffee:
Now, let's dive deep into our unique example – the Nose Hair Trimmer Bundle.
The resulting items in the bundle can include:
A high-quality, heavy-duty nose hair trimmer
Nostril bullets for a quick and easy nostril cleaning experience
A specially designed candle to gently remove excess nose hair
A precision knife for a more hands-on approach to trimming
Unmentionable beads that could serve as a humorous addition to the bundle
Here’s a fun mock-up of my questions:
Some of these items provide a visual representation of the nose, while others pertain to extracting and trimming things - It’s rather humorous and maybe a bit disconcerting.
It’s still a mystery around HOW it does all of this. What parts of the training data have told it to include unmentionable beads in a gift bundle for nose hair trimmers?!
Here’s the template you can use:
