Claude vs. ChatGPT on Transcript Digestion
I finally found something that ChatGPT is sub-par on by comparison
You've seen all the headlines about chatGPT falling behind from its previous incarnation and other LLMs. In my experience, nothing compares to chatGPT 4.0 regarding content creation, ideation, and understanding of language. But I did find one specific example where Anthropic’s Claude put chatGPT to shame.
I've been following the economic prognostications of Jeff Snider from Eurodollar University for some time, and I've been copying and pasting transcripts of his daily YouTube channel into a Word document. I then took that Word doc and uploaded it to chatGPT Code Intepretor, and to Claude's newly released web interface chat. I asked a simple question:
List every single stat from these youtube transcripts in bullet format
I think ChatGPT was overthinking this. It defaults to a narrative flow when what I wanted was an extraction of key stats. This is understandable, considering that the source material is in a narrative transcript format. But I wanted it to digest things quickly so I could put into short bullet points for some social media posts.
Claude from Anthropic, however, did amazingly well and I was able to bleed out several iterations of stats:
I’ll continue testing these iterations.
